SOME SORT OF LOVE by MELANIE HARLOW

From the outside looking in, I had it all—a career I loved, a supportive family, the Nixon metabolism but not the Nixon ears, and a salary that supported my lavish taste in designer shoes, fine wine, and lacy lingerie … but I had no one to share it with. Until the day I ran into him—my one night stand from college with the crooked smile, let’s-get-out-of-here eyes, and dirty, dirty mouth. Cute and cocky then, today Levi Brooks is six feet four inches of hot bearded fantasy. A sexy single dad with broad shoulders, strong hands, and a fantastically big … heart. (I mean, it’s massive. And generous. And it pumps so hard … um. Sorry. Lost my place.) Being a good father means everything to him, but he's keeping me at a distance because he thinks I deserve someone better — a man who can give me more time, more attention, more of himself. He doesn’t believe he could ever be enough. But he's wrong. He’s everything.

MELISSA'S REVIEW: 5 STARS

As the Happy Crazy Love series comes to a close my little reader heart is so full but still longs for more! This series, sometimes serious, many times sexy, and lots of times silly, has easily become one of my all time favorites. Melanie continues to take me by surprise with her relatable stories, loveable characters and fluid writing. Some Sort of Love encompasses all of those characteristics - I loved it!

I really liked Jillian - intelligent and assertive but in a way that was not pushy or flippant. I loved the way she quietly encouraged Levi to step outside of his comfort zone and got him to let loose and just be Levi. Levi was an equally loveable character that I think any parent can relate to. It was easy to identify with his inner monologue, his feelings of self doubt and worries about providing the best for his family. And lets not kid around here, Levi and Jillian were super hot together. In the closet, in the car, while texting, hoo boy! There were also many times I laughed out loud with them. It such a delight when characters can touch on all of your emotions and Jillian and Levi easily did that.

In many way this story was so poignant, and I must applaud Melanie for her fortitude in providing stories that are genuine, relatable, and raise awareness. It is such a brave thing to write stories, stories about real people, stories that touch readers emotionally and stay with them long after they are done. Some Sort of Love is that kind of story.

I would absolutely recommend this, and the series, to any romance reader that loves to laugh and swoon and maybe even shed some tears.
