NEW REVIEW: BENEATH THIS INK by MEGHAN MARCH

ABOUT BENEATH THIS INK

I’ve always known she was too good for me, but that never stopped me from wanting her. And then I finally had her for one night. A night I don’t remember. I figured I’d blown my shot. But now she’s walked back into my life, and this time, I have the upper hand. I want my second chance. Will she be able to see the man beneath this ink?

MY REVIEW

Phew! This one was SO MUCH BETTER than book one. I'm so glad I chose to continue with the series and I can't wait to dive into book three. I think what really grabbed me here was the rich character growth. Vanessa and Con both slowly revealed themselves as the story unraveled. It never felt gratuitous but instead complimented the natural progression of the story. I really, really liked Vanessa. Even though she carried some demons with her from the relationship with her late mother, she never allowed them to shadow her strength and drive. She is feisty, smart, and took risks to get what she wanted. I never felt mad or frustrated with her and respected her motives and choices. Con held my attention as equally as Vanessa did, maybe even more so. I loved his protective and compassionate nature. It is clear that he is a complicated and complex man who underneath it all loves fiercely and completely. Plus he was sexy as sin, which is never a bad thing. But that sexiness mixed together with his sincerity and vulnerability had me swooning big time. The way Vanessa and Con verbally came toe to toe with one another kept their dynamic fresh and alive yet they completely surrendered to one another in those tender moments. It was a beautiful balance that Megan March penned wonderfully. I'm sure I've read this storyline before but I don't even care! It was such a delicate blend of mystery and suspense and love and sex that was completely entertaining and all consuming. I'd be glad to recommend this and can't wait to read more in the series!
