She puts her hands on the back of my head and pulls me towards her, thrusting her tongue down my throat, tongue-fucking me as I bite and suck at her cherry-flavored mouth. As JD Hawkins' first novel, Insatiable: Part One brings the heat, lights a fire and stokes it with likeable characters and solid writing. A 3 star debut.
The hero, Jax, is beyond arrogant. He is an annoyingly successful architect, he drives a fancy car and lives in an elaborate home, he wears only the best clothes and is always the best looking dude in the room. And don’t forget, he is the ultimate in bed - never leaving any of his women unsatisfied. He is what every man wishes he was and what every woman wishes she had. But he’s also ambitious and focused, thoughtful and intelligent. He made me laugh and smile. He made me LIKE him. So, I guess he’s charming too?!
I love a man that knows what he wants and is relentless in his pursuit until he gets it. And Jax, he wants Lizzie. After very brief encounter at a night club and a run in at a café the following day, Jax is reeling for more of the sassy, brown eyed beauty with a boyfriend. After ditching her boyfriend of 8 years and one wild night in bed with Jax, Lizzie propositions Jax – one week of no strings sex so she can learn how to drive a man wild. Never one to back down from a challenge, Jax accepts.
Jax and Lizzie were a lot of fun together and she is his star pupil. Not only do they have off the charts chemistry in the bedroom, their banter is light and funny. I loved their scenes together. As their week together begins to wind down, Lizzie easily realizes that while she is learning a lot, she is also starting to catch some pretty heavy feelings for Jax. Should she shut it down? Can she afford to fall for this guy? How did no strings suddenly turn into a mangled ball of yarn?
Insatiable was sexy and funny. I found the characters to be dynamic and well developed. Overall, a solid debut from JD Hawkins. I can’t wait to see how Lizzie and Jax’s story plays out in book 2.
